AC Repair
Warm air, a noise that started overnight, or a unit that cannot keep up with a Tomball August. Same day on most calls, with a stocked truck so the repair usually finishes on the first visit.

Four of our five newest Google reviews thank a technician by name instead of the company. That is not an accident. Same shop on FM 2978, same family running it, and the same people turning up at your door.

Not a call centre routing you to whoever is closest. Reid Herring founded the business in 1992 and still takes customer questions himself. His son Jared runs operations, having worked up from install driver to residential technician to commercial technician. Kelly handles the finance side and came back to it after a career as a life flight nurse.
When you call the number on the side of that van, one of these people answers it.

Six things Reid's is set up to do properly, on all makes and models. Trucks run stocked, so most repairs finish on the first visit rather than being booked in twice.

This is a real service call, not a diagram. The order matters, because three of these five will tell you the fault before a single part is priced.

01
The meter goes on the common leg with the system running and settled. A reading taken in the first seconds of startup is inrush current and means nothing.
02
Every compressor has a rated load amperage printed on the unit. The reading only means something next to that number and the outdoor temperature it was taken at.
03
A unit that struggles only at startup is usually a capacitor or start component. A unit that runs high all the way through is a different and more serious conversation.
04
Reid's gives pricing upfront with no surprise fees. That starts with telling you what was measured rather than handing over a verdict you cannot check.
“One of the most thorough a/c checks we’ve had in years. Usually other companies just want to check the Freon levels and if you’re fortunate maybe see if the capacitor is ok then collect their fee.”Signed: LB, Google review

I had Greg from Reid's AC & Heat out to my home for an AC tune-up and maintenance service, and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Greg message me letting me know he was on his way, he was professional, friendly, and took the time to thoroughly inspect my system while explaining everything in a way that was easy to understand. What I appreciated most was his honesty and attention to detail. He made sure my unit was running efficiently and answered all of my questions without making me feel rushed.
One of the most thorough a/c checks we've had in years! Usually other companies just want to check the Freon levels and if you're fortunate maybe see if the capacitor is ok then collect their fee. They don't even check the rest of the unit in the attic. Not to mention he was here when they said he would be. Very pleased with the service.
Reid's is fantastic! Greg, my tech, is knowledgeable and friendly, and I feel comfortable trusting his opinion. I can't recommend them highly enough!!! I have a service contract, so have my system checked twice a year.
I have consistently had a great experience working with Greg who services my and my mom's home. He is always punctual, knowledgeable, and kind; and he always takes the time to explain any issues he finds or to answer any questions. I hope to continue working with him for a long time to come.
Where we run
Reid’s works out of one building on FM 2978 rather than a scattered franchise map, so these are drives we make daily and not a coverage claim on a map.
